Waitrose & Partners Donation and Volunteering Day

Employees from Waitrose & Partners joined us for a volunteering day in Stratford-Upon-Avon to help us with a number of our community projects within the locality of their store and through a volunteering scheme they run.

Duty Manager, Kate Berg said “The John Lewis Partnership Partner volunteering initiative is an effective way to support local communities, build customer loyalty, trust and give something back to the areas we trade in. Therefore, we were looking to identify opportunities with UK registered charities or Community Interest Groups that deliver real benefit to the local community where our Partners can safely make a positive difference.”

The volunteers worked on 3 of our horticultural projects by firstly helping maintain the gardens at Stratford hospital by watering, weeding and propagating plants from cuttings. They then constructed and planted up living wall planters which would contribute to our Warwickshire Living Walls project and finally headed up to our 5-acre nature reserve to paint our newly constructed composter and help create a lawn area.

We really appreciate all their hard work on the day and thank them for their incredibly generous donation which will go a long way to further supporting these community projects.
