Sustainable Team Building with DHL

We had a fun afternoon with DHL Express at Kettering Park Hotel for one of our sustainability ‘Go Green Team Challenge’ events. The event saw employees come together with their colleagues outside of the work environment to enjoy Green and Environmental Team Building activities. These activities not only added a competitive edge and built team cohesion, but also had purpose in creating biodiverse habitats to improve wellbeing and support the local NHS with edible urban gardens.

This was achieved with the creation of a ‘Living Wall’ where participants constructed and planted up plant boxes which slot together to make a vertically built structure covered by vegetation to bring life and beauty to an otherwise unused space, boost air quality and reduce pollution.

Other beneficial tasks included making handmade recycled newspaper plant pots and using them to propagate seeds that we will grow in our polytunnel and then supply local community areas with the flowers and edibles once fully grown.

We also tested their knowledge with an eco quiz and biodiversity audit of the vicinity and carried out speed challenges where there were points up for grabs.

Not only does team building with the Forest of Hearts support CSR and ESG goals but the practical team tasks help companies give back and have some fun in the outdoors while they do them.

We give thanks to DHL Express for their participation and for making the day a great success.
