More Impactful Volunteering Days with NFU Mutual at Stratford Hospital Gardens
Group 1
Group 2
Two more wonderful groups of NFU Mutual volunteers (from the compliance team of their Risk Division) joined us at Stratford-upon-Avon hospital to help maintain our Garden of Wellbeing and bring our Courtyard Garden closer to completion ready for its grand opening.
A Fresh Look for Our Gardens
One of the biggest transformations came from painting the fences in both the inside and outside of the gardens. With careful attention to detail, they were coated in a lovely ‘Warm Stone’ and ‘Silver Copse’ colour that helped to complement the surrounding greenery and create a calming atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff.
The volunteers also upcycled and painted garden furniture, breathing new life into benches, tables and chairs that will soon be enjoyed by all who visit during the upcoming summer months. These efforts have helped create a welcoming space where people can sit down, relax and connect with nature.
Preparing for Future Growth
Beyond aesthetics, the team got their hands dirty with essential gardening tasks. They weeded the garden, ensuring that plants have the space and nutrients they need to thrive. They also took on the important job of sieving decomposed compost from our composter then bagging up the fresh potting compost that will be used to propagate our next batch of plants. Thanks to their efforts, we’re well-prepared for the next stage of growth in our gardens.
They also added an array of plants to the garden spaces and planters, making them greener, brighter, and full of life.
A Huge Thank You
Thank you, NFU Volunteers - Your time, energy, and enthusiasm means a lot to our charity and we look forward to the upcoming volunteering days in June.
