Green Team Event with RWE
A Celebration of Sustainability
We were thrilled to host RWE for a hands-on two-day Green Team Event that made a real impact on local biodiversity and conservation efforts. RWE is a leading energy company committed to driving the transition to a sustainable future. With a focus on renewable energy and environmental responsibility, they are shaping a cleaner, greener world.
Day 1: A Day of Action at the Forest of Hearts Nature Reserve
On the first day of the event, the RWE Green Team rolled up their sleeves and got to work on several vital and fun projects at our nature reserve. They built bug and bee hotels to provide safe habitats for pollinators, ensuring these essential creatures can thrive. They also created an access path leading to our wildlife ponds, making it easier for visitors to explore and appreciate the natural beauty of the reserve.
In addition to these projects, the team helped maintain our trees, ensuring they remain healthy and continue to support local wildlife. To round off the day, they tested out our outdoor escape room - a fun and interactive way to engage with nature while solving cryptic and environmental challenges.
Day 2: Exploring Biodiversity and the River Avon in Stratford-upon-Avon
The second day of the event was all about discovery and learning. We set up moth traps at the Crowne Plaza hotel in the wilder outdoor areas, allowing the team to observe and learn about the incredible diversity of moth species in the area. Following this, they conducted a biodiversity audit at The Local Nature Reserve, gaining valuable insights into the health of the ecosystem and the species that call it home.
To conclude the event, the team embarked on a boat tour along the River Avon, taking in the stunning scenery and reflecting on the importance of protecting our waterways and the wildlife they support.
A Lasting Impact
The Green Team Event with RWE was a resounding success. Their enthusiasm, dedication, and hard work made a tangible difference to our conservation efforts, and their commitment to sustainability was fantastic to see.
