Celebrating National Tree Week 2025
Honouring Our Oak Trees and Planting for the Future
As National Tree Week unfolds across the UK, we at Forest of Hearts are proud to celebrate the quiet giants that shape our landscape, nurture biodiversity, and inspire awe. Trees are more than just beautiful, they’re vital in our mission to promote wellbeing, sustainability, and community connection.
The Majestic Oak: A Home for Barn Owls
At the heart of our Garden of Arden stands a truly majestic oak tree, one of three on our site that have stood for over a century. These amazing trees are living witnesses to generations of change, and they continue to give generously to the natural world.
One oak in particular has become a cherished symbol of life and renewal. Nestled high in its branches is our barn owl box, which has successfully homed five broods of barn owl chicks in recent years. Watching these graceful birds take flight from the safety of their oak-top nursery is a reminder of how thoughtful stewardship can create safe havens for wildlife.
Planting Hope: Our Tree Initiatives
While we honour our ancient oaks, we’re equally committed to planting for the future. Our Garden of Arden is blossoming into a vibrant mosaic of habitats thanks to our ongoing tree planting initiatives:
Orchard: A diverse mix of fruit trees will provide nourishment for people and pollinators alike, while offering opportunities for learning, harvesting, and celebration.
Forest Area: Designed to enhance biodiversity and carbon capture, our forest area will grow into a peaceful refuge for wildlife and visitors seeking solace in nature.
Hedgerow: These living corridors will connect habitats, shelter birds and small mammals, and enrich the landscape with seasonal colour and texture.
Each tree we plant is a promise to future generations, to nature, to the planet, and to the communities we serve.
Plant Trees with Us
As we celebrate National Tree Week, we invite you to help us plant 2,026 trees this tree planting season (November 2025 - March 2026). Whether you join us for a corporate tree planting day, volunteer, donate, or simply share our story, you’re helping grow a greener, kinder world.
