Creating Disabled Access Pathways thanks to Cemex UK

Through the generosity, hard work and incredible support from Cemex UK we got off to a fantastic start creating our garden area at Stratford-upon-Avon hospital with the creation of a disabled access pathway.

The much needed pathway will now give patients and staff the opportunity to access the garden area to relax and recover in the outdoors amongst nature and that’s thanks to Cemex for donating every hour of labour and for getting all materials donated.

A special mention goes to Christian Vale (Midlands & South West Senior Operations Manager) for organising this ‘lend a hand’ project and for bringing colleagues together from all departments within Cemex and afar to help create such a positive impact to the garden area.

We thank Shaun Hughes (Midlands Relief Readymix Plant Manager) for helping to deliver the project and leading his team of volunteers (from Operations, Shipping, Technical and West Midlands based IHCsto) to do such a great job creating the concrete path.

We also give thanks those involved in the project from external companies including; Liam McGilloway from Anytime Concrete, Gareth Hughes from C & G Groundworks, Mark and Andy from R . Adams and Sons and not forgetting Robert Sims, Lex Russel and UK Materials MD for helping with the project.

An amazing team effort all round, collaborating together for such a worthy cause. We are incredibly grateful.

A word from Cemex…

“It was great to support and deliver such a great project to help give NHS staff an area to escape the pressures of working in a hospital once the garden is finished, a true sanctuary away for the patients too. Every hour was a donation and all the materials supplied were donated. Well done and thank you to the whole team!”

- Christian Vale (Midlands & South West Senior Operations Manager)

“It was really good to give back and do work that helps the community. Seeing the work we did impact this area at the hospital was very rewarding”
