Volunteering Day with Cadent Gas

We were joined by an employee volunteering group from Cadent Gas as they gave their time to help out at our Field of Life as part of their Greener Society Volunteering scheme.

The hard-working group brought lots of energy and enthusiasm as they helped make such a positive impact to the beginning stages of our biodiversity project.   

The volunteers started the creation of our butterfly bank, planted a 9ft flowering cherry tree, weeded the 5-acres ready for wildflower seeding and helped prepare an area for hedge planting.  

A spokesperson for the scheme said “We work to identify diverse, local community causes that require our support, ensuring they benefit from our workforce’s skills and resources. All activities we commit to will help us directly fulfil our Force for Good Ambition which is to make things ‘Easier, Fairer and Greener’ for those living and working in our networks”.

Their volunteer scheme gives Cadent employees an allowance of 2 volunteer days each year and we are so grateful they chose us. It’s with volunteer groups like this one that we can create such positive change together.
