Tree Planting Day with Square Enix
As the new tree planting season got underway and to celebrate some of the core values of one of their recent video game releases ‘Visions of Mana’, we had the pleasure of hosting the passionate and creative team from Square Enix. They joined us at our nature reserve just outside Stratford-upon-Avon for a Green Team Event to plant trees and enjoy a team building experience.
The day began with a warm welcome, refreshments and an introduction to the importance of tree planting and biodiversity. Equipped with shovels, gloves and trees, the Square Enix team enthusiastically set to work planting a mix of hedgerow and fruit trees in and around our orchard area.
A few hours planting saw the group plant 430 trees. These efforts will not only enhance the beauty and ecological balance of our reserve but also provide a sustainable source of fruit for future generations to enjoy. The hedgerow will provide food, shelter and habitat for a variety of wildlife including birds, bees, butterflies, insects and small mammals.
After working up an appetite we stopped to enjoy fresh stone-cooked pizza whilst everybody discussed their achievements. With lunch completed, some of the group continued to plant trees, some created bug and bee hotels and others took their gaming prowess from the virtual realm to the physical world, enjoying a lively game of Disc Golf amidst the natural beauty of the forest.
We give thanks to Square Enix and everybody on the day for their collective efforts in creating a positive impact and we were delighted to host an event that brough people together in the great outdoors.
A word from the group…
“The Forest of Hearts team are lovely, enthusiastic and informative. It was a great day of learning about nature, and giving back to Mother Earth. I enjoyed that there were a variety of activities that we could join in with. The morning coffees/pastries and lunch time pizza van were definitely welcomed!”
“Doing something outdoors with colleagues which was fun, educational and impactful was great. The food was great too and helped fuel our tree planting endeavours. Loved creating a bug and bee B&B too and that everything we did on the day will help the local wildlife. A thoroughly enjoyable day.
I enjoyed all the fun facts we learnt about trees and surrounding nature and the fact there was a mix of activities.
