Grafton PLC’s Off‑Grid Meeting and Environmental Team Building Day

We were delighted to welcome back the team from Grafton PLC, who made use of our off‑grid meeting space for their team meeting and took part in hands‑on team‑building activities to give back.

The team planted ten apple trees in our orchard area and watered them in to help them establish well and grow into strong, healthy fruit‑bearing trees. As these trees mature and begin producing apples, we will harvest the fruit and share it with the community through our Harvest Share project, ensuring that the benefits of this work reach far beyond the orchard itself.

Alongside the tree planting, we cared for the wider orchard by mowing and strimming the area to keep it well maintained, and mowed pathways to make access into the space easier.

They finished by planting freshly coppiced willow whips, harvested from a local site cared for by one of our volunteers, setting them in along the newly strimmed pathway to form the first stages of a living archway to walk through.

After being inspired by watching blue tits going in and out of the bird boxes in the garden areas, they took home bird‑box kits we made from repurposed pallet wood to build and enjoy in their own gardens.

A big thank you to Rosie Howells and her team for choosing us again, and to Thatchers for supplying the apple trees as part of our Community Orchard Project partnership.
