Environmental Team Building Day with National Grid

Our nature reserve played host to a great Green Team Event with National Grid full of eco themed team building activities focused on sustainability and helping nature thrive.

The team of 9:

  • Made plant pots from recycled newspaper to sow veg seeds. These seeds were then germinated in our polytunnel and planted out in our Kitchen Garden to grow food for the Stratford-upon-Avon hospital café.

  • Constructed and planted up living wall planters which will be donated to Mary Ann Evans Hospice in Nuneaton as part of a project where we are running a ‘Gardening Club’ with members of the local community to improve their wellbeing and beautify the gardens.

  • Up-cycled pallet crates into beautiful alpine bed planters which were transported to Bishopton Community Centre and displayed in our newly created garden area.

  • Continued building our butterfly bank to help create an open habitat to attract butterflies as part of a biodiversity action plan for Warwickshire.

We give thanks to National Grid for all their support and creative efforts on the day and for helping create a positive impact on many of our projects.
