green therapy

Green therapy is a pilot project to evaluate a model of social prescribing in Stratford upon Avon District, set in the Secret Garden of Lifeways Centre, Stratford which will:

  • Promote mental health and well-being
  • Promote activities that reduce obesity and obesity related long term conditions
  • Address rural and social isolation

We will provide a training event for up to 20 health and social care professionals and/or Age UK Navigators to experience the Garden Gym and Grow Creative activities in order to help to promote the service and provide feedback. Book your place to learn about Social Prescribing here.

There will be a network of outdoor activities and run weekly Garden Gym and Grow Creative sessions so that up to 40 people can be referred/be offered opportunities to carry out gardening tasks and do creative activities which provide regular gentle outdoor exercise.

Social prescribing is about linking people up to social or physical activities in their community with a wide range of benefits to improve health and wellbeing, reduce obesity and social isolation.
